We were given 60 minutes to design a range of flags based on our ideal ‘utopia’, in which for mine I chose New York. The brief challenged us to only use symbols and colours to create these flags, so it wasn’t ‘obvious’ but still ‘recognisable’. My flags were based on the New York City subway, Statue of Liberty crown (which also works for subway windows in NYC), and the classic yellow taxi cabs.
